Many of these hypermethylated, upregulated genes belong to the developmental transcription factor family (40) and have previously been implicated in BC etiology and endocrine resistance (41), including GATA2 (42), HOXC4 (43), HOXB13 (44), HOXC13 (45), MNX1 (46), OTX1 (47), PAX7, SOX2 (48), and WT1 (49).
