Severe TRL is common in patients with HGG after standard concurrent chemoradiotherapy and is associated with shorter survival due to tumor progression.8 In a prospective study of 96 patients with HGG, absolute lymphocyte and CD4 counts were relatively normal before therapy, and after 6 weeks of radiation and concurrent temozolomide, 73% of patients had CD4 counts that fell below 300 cells/mm3, and 40% had CD4 counts less than 200 cells/mm3. This evidence concerns the gene CD4 and neoplasm.
