In addition to the potential diagnostic utility of CSPG4, a number of CSPG4‐targeting strategies, such as CSPG4‐specific monoclonal antibodies [47, 48, 49], radio‐immunoconjugates [50, 51, 52], chemotactic conjugates [53], or immunotoxins [54, 55, 56, 57, 58, 59, 60, 61], have already been previously applied in animal models and melanoma patients, with partially promising results [62]. This evidence concerns the gene CSPG4 and melanoma.
