Our study, which evaluated standard routine analysis and biomarkers of endothelial dysfunction and platelet activation, such as P-selectin, thrombomodulin, PAI, von Willebrand antigen (VWF: Ag), and von Willebrand factor ristocetin cofactor (VWF: RCo), identified a reliable biomarker for predicting disease severity. The gene discussed is SERPINB2; the disease is endothelial dysfunction.
