The association between psoriasis, metabolic syndrome, and inflammatory cytokines, particularly IL-17, IL-23, and TNF-α, was highlighted by Pirowska et al. Their study concluded that patients with psoriasis and coexisting metabolic syndrome exhibited significantly elevated levels of IL-17 compared to those without metabolic syndrome, suggesting a link between systemic inflammation and metabolic complications in psoriasis [9]. This evidence concerns the gene IL17A and metabolic syndrome.
