In neonatal mice with OVA-induced asthma, ALA treatment suppressed airway inflammation, as evidenced by an attenuated lung wet-to-dry ratio (a measure of edema), diminished levels of inflammatory mediators (IL-4, IL-5, IL-13, TNF-α), and decreased levels of total IgE and OVA-specific IgE (key drivers of allergic responses). This evidence concerns the gene IGHE and asthma.
