MTHFD2 and breast cancer: MTHFD2, a mitochondrial bifunctional enzyme in glucose metabolism, has been identified as a ferroptosis regulator in triple-negative BC.[15] Epothilone B, used to treat metastatic BC in clinical, promotes mitochondrial ROS to induce ferroptosis.[16] However, the targets and underlying mechanisms based on ferroptosis and MM in treating BC need more exploration.
