TNF and rheumatoid arthritis: Omega‐3 fatty acids modulate the inflammatory response by acting as precursors to lipid mediators of inflammation and have been shown to decrease the production of interleukins (IL‐1β and IL‐6), tumor necrosis factor (TNF‐α), and interferons (INF‐γ) in in vitro, animal, and human models, thus reducing the inflammatory response in RA (Kostoglou‐Athanassiou et al. 2020).
