This observation is consistent with other studies in which serum albumin concentration was lower in dogs with amyloidosis, membranous glomerulonephropathy, membranoproliferative or mixed immune‐complex mediated glomerular disease than in dogs with minimal change disease, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis, and juvenile nephropathies [1], reflecting more severe proteinuria. This evidence concerns the gene ALB and amyloidosis.
