ALB and kidney failure: Compared with patients without a suboptimal dialysis start, patients with a suboptimal dialysis start had a lower eGFR (14.5 versus 16.8), higher urine ACR (median 1488.5 versus 813.3 mg/g), higher 2-year risk of kidney failure (mean 53% versus 38%), lower hemoglobin (10.8 versus 11.3 g/dl), and lower serum albumin (3.6 versus 3.9 g/dl) and were more likely to have completed KRT modality education (48% versus 32%) at baseline.
