Spearman correlation analyses revealed significantly inverse correlations of plasma adiponectin level with IL-1β (r = −0.674, P < 0.001), IL-2 (r = −0.676, P < 0.001), IL-6 (r = −0.564, P < 0.001), IL-8 (r = −0.566, P < 0.001), TNF-α (r = −0.682, P < 0.001), and positive correlations with IL-4 (r = 0.320, P = 0.015) and IL-10 (r = 0.693, P < 0.001) in the cohort of 57 ALS patients (Figure 1A).
