The therapeutic effects of Tan IIA extend to the regulation of adipocytokine signaling, as evidenced by Tan et al.'s report that Tan IIA attenuates atherosclerosis in apolipoprotein E-deficient (ApoE−/−) mice by promoting cholesterol efflux and alleviating lipid accumulation in macrophages through modulation of the Omentin-1/ABCA1 pathway (Tan et al., 2019). Here, APOE is linked to atherosclerosis.
