ABL1 and leukemia: A study conducted to compare the response of BC CML leukemic stem cells (LSC) to JAK2 inhibitors, alone and in combination with a BCR::ABL1 inhibitor in reducing the leukemic burden and impairing the self-renewal capability of BC LSC, found that combination of a JAK2 inhibitor (SAR302503) and a BCR::ABL1 inhibitor (dasatinib) was significantly more effective in impairing the ability of LSC to renew themselves and reducing the number of LSC, indicating this strategy may be important in preventing the leukemia from developing resistance and relapsing [45].
