GLP-1 suppresses glucagon secretion, stimulates insulin release, slows down gastric emptying, and increases satiety, reducing food intake. The use of a GLP-1RA is indicated in patients with type 2 diabetes as monotherapy (if metformin is inappropriate), or in combination with other drugs (including insulin) if existing treatment fails to achieve adequate glycemic control [3-5]. Here, GLP1R is linked to type 2 diabetes mellitus.
