By stimulating S845 phosphorylation, βAR signaling promotes different kinds of LTP in the hippocampus,25,40–43 including LTP induced by a prolonged (90–180 s) theta oscillation (5–12 Hz) tetanus paired with the application of a βAR agonist7,40,41,44 (see also Birnie et al.45), which we call “prolonged theta-tetanus LTP” (PTT-LTP).
