NTRK2 and Parkinson disease: Dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) was found to confer neuroprotectiveeffects through interaction with TrkA and p75 in vitro. The synthetic DHEA derivative BNN-20 was found to be neuroprotectant in a mouse modelof Parkinson’s disease, inhibiting dopaminergic neuron apoptosisthrough a TrkB-dependent mechanism. Anotherderivative, ENT-A010, protected PC12 cells and DRG neurons from apoptosisin cell survival assays and hippocampal neurons from Αβ-inducedapoptosis and ameliorated inflammation in hippocampal microglia inmice.
