CACNA1G and Generalized non-motor (absence) seizure: In vitro and in vivo studies using genetically modified mice have revealed that Cav3.1 T-type channels play a key role in the genesis of thalamocortical rhythms, such as 3 Hz spike-and-wave discharges, a signature of absence seizures (Kim et al., 2001; Song et al., 2004) and delta waves (Royer et al., 2012; Lee et al., 2013; McCormick and Pape, 1990).
