Numerous studies have demonstrated that exposure to pollutants such as PM2.5, ozone (O3), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), carbon black nanoparticles (CB NPs), trimellitic anhydride (TMA), toluene-2,4-diisocyanate (TDI), hypochlorite, and cigarette smoke can induce increasing expression of TRPV1 or TRPA1 in the lungs of mouse asthma models. Here, TRPA1 is linked to asthma.
