Other Wee1 targeting agents are in development; the most advanced is azenosertib, which has reported increased selectivity for Wee1 and has reported preliminary signals of activity in uterine serous cancer (NCT04814108) and platinum-resistant ovarian cancer (NCT05128825), with phase 2 trials ongoing (Funda Meric-Bernstam et al., 2022, Huang et al., 2021).
