Recently, the interest in improving the fullPIERS model performance with maternal seric biomarkers, especially sFlt-1 (soluble FMS-like tyrosine kinase-1) and PlGF (placental growth factor) ratio regarding their property of adverse maternal prediction has increased.(18) In a study from Serbia involving preeclampsia cases with early-onset diagnosis, the accuracy (AUC) of sFlt-1/PlGF ratio was 0.853 and the accuracy of fullPIERS was 0.628.(18) However, the cost-effectiveness of this association in LMIC settings still needs to be studied. This evidence concerns the gene FLT1 and preeclampsia.
