APOE and Alzheimer disease: Corresponding to the lower rates of AD and MCI, we observed a relatively higher percentage of carriers (~17% vs ~11.1% in White by Belloy et al)(42) for the protective APOE ε2, and relatively lower percentage of carriers (~22% vs ~40.6% in White by Belloy et al)(42) for the risk associated APOE ε4 allele (Table 1).
