LPA and ischemic stroke: The Emerging Risk Factors Collaboration gathered records involving 126 634 participants in 36 prospective studies with 1.3 million person-years of follow-up and, after making appropriate adjustments for age, sex, lipids, and other conventional risk factors, found that each 3.5-fold increase in the Lp(a) level was associated with a 10% increased risk for ischaemic stroke.
