Increased EIF4EBP1 mRNA and 4EBP1 protein expression is driven by MYC through direct binding to the EIF4EBP1 promoter and activation of EIF4EBP1 transcription, which in turn may contribute to higher clonogenic growth properties of MB cells in vitro and possibly more aggressive MBs behavior in patients. Here, MYC is linked to Mobius syndrome.
