IFNG and tuberculosis: After discussion with the infectious disease, gastroenterology, and respiratory teams, it was determined that the main differentials included sarcoidosis, tuberculosis, or lymphoma. A lumbar puncture was performed and analysis of cerebrospinal fluid was not suggestive of infection or malignancy. Serum testing was equally unrevealing with a negative tuberculosis interferon-gamma release assay and normal white cell populations on plasma flow cytometry.
