Several orphan ichthyoses including congenital ichthyosiform erythroderma, epidermolytic ichthyosis, lamellar ichthyosis, and Netherton syndrome, have been shown to have an IL-17/IL-23 and IL-36 dominant immune profile in skin and blood similar to psoriasis. This evidence concerns the gene IL17A and congenital reticular ichthyosiform erythroderma.
