Elacestrant (RAD-1901), a selective estrogen receptor (ER) degrader, received approval from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration on January 27, 2023, for the treatment of ER-positive, HER2-negative advanced breast cancer.[34] Recent studies have also demonstrated its positive effects in breast cancer patients harboring ESR1 mutations.[35] Elacestrant, as the inaugural oral selective ER degrader, demonstrates superior advantages and specificity compared to existing anti-osteoporosis medications, particularly in the treatment of osteoporosis in females. Here, ESR1 is linked to breast cancer.
