This is in line with previous studies, which showed that PTP4A3 overexpression induces increased phosphorylation of mTORC1, 4E‐BP1 and p70S6K [57] and that PTP4A3 is involved in the regulation of PI3K signalling with reduced levels of AKT and mTOR phosphorylation in PTP4A3 knockdown glioblastoma LN229 and U87 cell lines [58]. This evidence concerns the gene AKT1 and glioblastoma.
