It has been discovered that six well-known myopia-related genes are targeted by five myopia-specific miRNAs (has-miR-582-3p, has-miR-885-3p, has-miR-19b-3p, has-miR-450b-5p, and has-miR-17-5p): cyclic nucleotide-gated channel subunit beta 3 (CNGB3), lumican (LUM), vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGFA), cholinergic receptor muscarinic 2 (CHRM2), IGF1, and adenosine A2a receptor (ADORA2A). The gene discussed is CHRM2; the disease is myopia.
