In a model of mice fed a high-fat and high-sucrose (HFS) diet, the administration of pA1c® for 10 weeks induced an increase in Acox expression [26], and in a model of rats with obesity induced by the same diet, fatty acid beta-oxidation was activated in the adipose tissue and the liver [27]. Here, ACOX1 is linked to obesity due to melanocortin 4 receptor deficiency.
