NGF and BDNF participate in several acute and chronic inflammatory and autoimmune scenarios, including multiple sclerosis (MS), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), also known as autoimmune diseases or as novel conceptualization, such as “type 3 diabetes”, working as biomarkers for vasculogenesis and angiogenesis, metabolite regulation (glucose, lipid, and antioxidant), and energy metabolism in several systems including the visual one [10,11,12,13]. Here, BDNF is linked to Alzheimer disease.
