In a separate study spanning three years and involving patients exhibiting symptoms of suspected stroke lasting ≤ 4.5 h, GFAP was assessed in a total of 299 individuals (44% diagnosed with acute ischemic stroke, 38% presenting stroke mimics, 10% with intracranial hemorrhage, and 7% with transient ischemic attack). This evidence concerns the gene GFAP and intracranial hemorrhage.
