In the multivariable models, reduced left ventricular EF (OR: 0.958 per %, 95% CI: 0.928–0.989, p = 0.008), AF etiology (OR: 1.578, 95% CI: 1.273–1.863, p = 0.021), carotid artery etiology (OR: 2.552, 95% CI: 1.268–5.135, p = 0.009), and elevated CRP levels (OR: 1.009 per mg/L, 95% CI: 1.001–1.016, p = 0.025) also remained independently associated with increased stroke severity.
