Furthermore, changes in the DNA and the RNA expression of LINC00403, which is LINC00404’s immediate neighbor, have been documented and statistically correlate with patient clinical and pathological parameters, suggesting possible significance in the initiation and spread of cancer, e.g., whole exome sequencing identified a frameshift deletion in LINC00403 in T-cell chronic lymphocytic leukemia [16], while lncRNA-microarray analysis for expression profiling showed that LINC00403 RNA levels in esophageal cancer were reduced by approximately 8 times, among many other alterations [17].
