Until 2020, CA was also authorized in the EU for the indications sterol 27‐hydroxylase deficiency (causing cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis, CTX), α‐methylacyl‐CoA racemase (AMACR) deficiency, and cholesterol 7α‐hydroxylase (CYP7A1) deficiency. This evidence concerns the gene CYP7A1 and cerebrotendinous xanthomatosis.
