Building on the pathogenic role of P2X7R in myocarditis and the cardiovascular protective properties of PE, we hypothesized that PE may play a protective role against myocarditis by inhibiting P2X7R and regulate the P2X7R/NLRP3/IL-1β, PIP2 and MAPK signaling pathways, thereby alleviating the inflammatory infiltration and damage of myocardial tissue. Here, NLRP3 is linked to myocarditis.
