Analysis of quartile data for IL-6 and IL-8 revealed that patients in the highest quartile for IL-6 had an increased risk of LOS (OR = 3.554, 95% CI: 1.464–8.625, p = 0.005), which remained significant after adjusting for gestational age, gestational hypertension, and antenatal steroids (aOR = 3.113, 95% CI: 1.239–7.819, p = 0.016). The gene discussed is CXCL8; the disease is preeclampsia.
