Investigating the temporal dynamics of these markers, such as hepcidin, ferritin, erythropoietin (EPO), and erythroferrone, throughout the course of the disease and during treatment, as well as their relationship with splenomegaly, may provide valuable insights into the underlying mechanisms of VL‐associated anaemia and its association with clinical severity. The gene discussed is HAMP; the disease is anemia (phenotype).
