TSLP and asthma: In influenza-induced exacerbation of asthma, TSLP may promote the accumulation of Cullin5 in alveolar macrophages, which is involved in various cellular processes including cell migration, DNA damage repair, and inflammation, thereby inhibiting antiviral immune responses and promoting neutrophilic inflammation, leading to worsening of asthma symptoms (Zhang et al., 2024).
