IL13 and asthma: ILC2s mainly play a role in the induction of eosinophilic inflammation in asthma patients through IL-5, IL-13, IL-33, and TSLP, promoting the onset and the exacerbation of asthma, emphasizing the therapeutic potential of targeting ILC2 (Smith et al., 2016; Matsuyama et al., 2022).ILC2s that are induced upon influenza viral infections may contribute to exacerbations of airway inflammation upon allergen exposure (Li et al., 2019).
