These results are consistent with literature showing that the Spatial Reasoning composite subscales displayed the greatest correlations with cerebral amyloid-PET and entorhinal tau-PET in participants along the AD continuum.21 Specifically, it has been proposed that the spatial arrangement of numbers and placement of hands on the clock face were significant drivers of this subcomponent’s association with AD pathology.21 Future research is warranted to better understand how such process-related scores enhance our understanding of early cognitive changes during neurodegeneration.
