Second, the results revealed that the correlation between the four IR surrogates and SCLC risk remained significant after adjusting for indicators of inflammation, including WBCC and neutrophil count; however, since other indicators of inflammation, such as C-reactive protein and tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), were not detected and analysed in this study, the potential role of IR in the risk of inflammation-induced SCLC needs to be further investigated.
