In the CheckMate 649 study (NCT02872116), nivolumab plus chemotherapy demonstrated superior overall survival (OS) and clinically meaningful progression-free survival (PFS) benefit as assessed by blinded independent central review (BICR) versus chemotherapy alone, with an acceptable safety profile, in patients with previously untreated, advanced, non-human epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2)-positive gastric cancer, gastroesophageal junction cancer, and esophageal adenocarcinoma (GC/GEJC/EAC) [1]. Here, ERBB2 is linked to gastric cancer.
