NAT2 and urinary bladder cancer: As an example, this meant that previously the ultra-slow NAT2 genotype defined by SNPs rs1041983 and rs1799930 was not genotyped in GWAS for bladder cancer (Figueroa et al., 2016[15]) - even though the slow NAT2 phenotype is the oldest known genetic risk factor for the development of urinary bladder cancer when exposed to carcinogenic aromatic amines (Lower et al., 1979[43]).
