By targeting IGF1R and inhibiting the downstream AKT and ERK signal pathway, miR-133a suppresses cell proliferation, induces cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 stage, and promotes apoptosis in osteosarcoma, hepatocellular carcinoma, and gastric cancer (47, 48), suggesting an inverse correlation of miR-133a and IGF1R. This evidence concerns the gene IGF1R and hepatocellular carcinoma.
