A study found that miR-539 can regulate the expression of tumor necrosis factor-α-induced protein 8, which in turn activated the SAPK/JNK pathway, decreased the expression of GPX4, and promoted the occurrence of ferroptosis and inhibited the proliferation of CRC cells, in contrast, down-regulation of miR-539 expression in CRC promotes CRC development [142]. This evidence concerns the gene MAPK8 and colorectal carcinoma.
