The GDM-exposed neonates presented significantly elevated plasma levels of interleukin-6 (IL-6, 7.30 ± 0.34 vs. 3.08 ± 0.13 pg./mL, p < 0.001), C-reactive protein (CRP, 2.24 ± 0.39 vs. 0.92 ± 0.29 mg/L, p < 0.001), lipopolysaccharide (LPS, 0.41 ± 0.08 vs. 0.14 ± 0.04 EU/mL, p < 0.001), and procalcitonin (PCT, 0.38 ± 0.07 vs. 0.14 ± 0.06 ng/mL, p < 0.001). Here, CRP is linked to gestational diabetes.
