Laboratory investigations revealed leukopenia with lymphopenia, mild normochromic normocytic anemia, thrombocytopenia, elevated erythrocyte sedimentation rate (ESR) and C-reactive protein (CRP), total and direct hyperbilirubinemia, hypocalcemia, elevated gamma-glutamyl transferase (GGT) levels, hypergammaglobulinemia (IgG), and asymptomatic leukocyturia with identification of Enterococcus faecalis sensitive to amikacin. Here, CRP is linked to anemia (phenotype).
