Furthermore, numerous genes, including GATA6, TBX1, TBX3 and COL1A1, are thought to be involved in the etiology of IIH [7–10] It has also been demonstrated that the TBX3 and GATA6 genes play a role in the regulation of apoptotic pathways during fetal development, and it has been noted that IIH patients have single nucleotide polymorphisms in these genes [7, 9]. The gene discussed is TBX3; the disease is pseudotumor cerebri.
