GATA6 has been found to have altered expression levels not only in diaphragmatic hernia, type 1 diabetes mellitus, pancreatic agenesis, and growth and developmental delay but also in congenital heart diseases, particularly in conditions, such as Fallot's tetralogy, atrial septal defect, and persistent truncus arteriosus [49]. Here, GATA6 is linked to type 1 diabetes mellitus.
