Given that cancer cells exhibit a heterogeneous activation status of YAP/TAZ in vivo (Fig. 1A and Fig. 2B), and that YAP/TAZ inhibition within cancer cells confers multicellular-level protection against ferroptosis (Fig. 2C), we hypothesized that heterogeneous YAP/TAZ activity within tumor tissues may contribute to tumor resistance to ferroptosis.
