As dysregulation of cell-ECM interactions is a common feature in cancers (66), our study raises the possibility that EGFR and EFNB1 cooperate to regulate cell-matrix adhesion in cancer types where both proteins are overexpressed, possibly including brain, breast, and lung cancers (67, 68, 69, 70, 71, 72). The gene discussed is EFNB1; the disease is lung cancer.
