The result showed that this fusion transcript included exon 1 and 2 of PLEKHA1 and exon 23 of TACC2. To explore whether the PLEKHA1-TACC2 fusion resulted from a genomic DNA rearrangement, we performed long-range PCR with a pair of primers specific to the fusion-gene and genomic DNA of tumor tissue of ESCC 1 and obtained a PCR product longer than 5 kb.
